Platform Architecture

Introduction

This platform architecture provides a visual representation of how the Collibra Platform components work and integrate with existing environments.

  • A complement to the product documentation
  • Provides a detailed reference view of all moving pieces
  • Provides a starting point when discussing architecture with clients
  • Can be tailored to client architecture by removing components that are out-of-scope, changing ports, adding in specific systems, etc.

Intended Audience: The Infrastructure team (both network and system administrators)

Notes: All diagrams are based on DGC 5.6.1

Basic Environment

Reference architecture for a basic environment:

  • Single-node installation; all services on the same node, including Connect
  • Single firewall zones
  • System requirements based on 1-15 concurrent users, <500k assets

Typical Environment

Reference architecture for a typical environment:

  • Multi-node installation; all services on the same node except for separate job servers
  • Multiple firewall zones
  • System requirements based on 16-50 concurrent users, <1M assets

Enterprise Environment

Reference architecture for an enterprise environment:

  • Full multi-node installation, i.e. every component is installed on a separate node
  • Multiple firewall zones
  • System requirements based on 101-200 concurrent users, >1M assets
