Course Description:

In this course, we will discuss the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which will be implemented January 1, 2020. We will review the regulation and the suggested action steps towards establishing the CCPA framework.

While the CCPA does share similar content as GDPR, it primarily addresses transparency rights, non-discrimination rights and control rights. The Collibra GDPR Solution introduces the four pillars methodology, including people, data, processes and technology. We have mapped the main CCPA requirements against related GDPR provisions and Collibra’s GDPR Solutions, including process and purpose registers, traceability diagrams and data breach notification workflow. With the necessary organizational changes implemented, the GDPR Solution can be used to fulfill CCPA obligations.
