About This Course

Instructor:

Lowell Fryman, Practice Principal and Capability Manager

Objectives:

  • Originate data strategy, principles and structure
  • Assess scope, controls and change management processes
  • Plan alignment between data governance and business programs

Description:

In this course, we begin with step one of the Prescriptive Path, the governance foundation. The objective of the foundation step is to establish the data strategy, guiding principles, organizational structure, roles, responsibilities and basic policies. The second step of the Prescriptive Path is to prioritize the use cases, key performance indicators and metrics applied in the governance iteration implementation. This process establishes the scope of the implementation. Generally, our customers start with a use case that has been identified as high priority. The objective is to gain better alignment between the data governance program and the business programs that have the need, or most urgent need, for governance to ensure that we’re aligned with our business processes.
