Frequently Asked Questions

Collibra Certification helps our customers and partners build credibility and confidence by validating their expertise in implementing and maintaining Collibra products.

What version of the Collibra Platform is used for certification?
Certification is conducted on the latest version of Collibra. Certifying against the latest version means the certification will remain relevant for the longest period of time.

What is included in the certification process?
Each candidate is provided access to a real-world, scenario-based problem that they are to solve in the Collibra Platform. An instance of the Collibra Platform is provided along with specific submission requirements for the assigned scenario. Please note: the Admin username and password should be left alone. If the username or password is changed your application will be disqualified. Make sure that the Admin user has the proper permissions to view everything that is required of your submission. They will be logging in to review your set up.

What are the submission requirements?
Each scenario includes instructions on how to submit your final response which must include a backup of your solution completed in the provided instance. The scenario often requires additional workflows, model diagrams, a narrative description of your approach to your solution along with any assumptions you made that influenced your submission. These should be zipped into a single archive and uploaded to the provided scenario page.

How long do I have to complete the scenario?
Each candidate is allowed 4-weeks to complete the scenario solution. Access to the instance will be terminated after 4-weeks.

I have questions regarding the scenario. Who can I ask for clarification?
Questions should be sent to certification@collibra.com. Please understand, the exam assesses your analytical skills and knowledge of best practices. Collibra Rangers™ should not be contacted.

What happens after I submit my completed scenario?
The submission will be reviewed and scored by a member of the Collibra Ranger™ committee. Once the scoring is complete, an interview is scheduled with the candidate. The candidate is allowed 2 attempts at passing the exam. If the candidate is unsuccessful they must wait 6 months to reapply.

I submitted my scenario. When will I hear about my results?
The scenario review process takes approximately 2 weeks to complete. Once the committee completes their review you will receive an invitation to a review interview.
